This jewel of nature is located in the “Sierra de La Macarena” (Department of Meta) and is known for the striking colors of its waters produced by the “Macarenia Clavigera”, an endemic plant in the area that blooms between June and November and that has given it the reputation of being the most beautiful river in the world. In addition to Caño Cristales, the area of ”La Macarena” has unique natural attractions thanks to the millenary rock formations characteristic of the area in which you can do activities such as hiking, swimming in crystal clear waters and sighting of fauna and flora in an area of special biological and geological interest worldwide.

(05:30 – 8:30) – Meeting time at “Puente Aéreo” (Terminal 2 of El Dorado Airport) (the meeting time can change depending on the day chosen), after doing the flight arranges you will take a 1-hour flight to La Macarena town, where our local team will receive you and accommodate you at your hotel (Las Macarenias), then you will receive the talk with National Park Systems, environmental & local authorities at La Macarena. After that navigation over the Guayabero river till the point of “puerto de los mangos”, then transfer in 4×4 for 20 minutes till the point of “el manantial del cajuche” where you will start one of the alternative trails at Caño Cristales: which can be (Caño Cristalitos/ Caño Piedra or laguna del silencio), then you will return to La Macarena to the hotel in order to have dinner and rest.
(07:00) Breakfast and after that navigation over the Guabero river till the point of “puerto de los mangos”, then transfer in 4×4 for 20 minutes till the point of “el manantial del cajuche” where you will start to the hike through one of the longest trails at Caño Cristales (There are many different trails, we guarantee the visit of one of the best ones). During the trail you will have lunch (outdoor-style “fiambre”) and after ending the whole trail you will return to La Macarena area and will have an intregration night with local music and the dinner.
(07:00) Breakfast and after that you will have a 1-hour fluvial ride on Guayabero river till the sector of “ El Raudal de Angosturas” where you will start the the hike of the trail of “Aguas claras” or “ciudad de piedra” & will have lunch (outdoor-style “fiambre” on the route) ending in the afternoon and returning by boat over the Guayabero River and returning to the hotel in order to have dinner and rest.
(07:00) Breakfast and after that you will have navigation over the Guayabero river till the point of “puerto de los mangos”, then transfer in 4×4 for 20 minutes till the point of “el manantial del cajuche” where you will start one of the alternative trails at Caño Cristales: which can be (Caño Cristalitos/ Caño Piedra or laguna del silencio), then you will return to La Macarena in order to have lunch before being taken to the airport where you will take the flight back to Bogotá or your destination city during the afternoon.
